How use Ellii Solo (Teachers)
Ellii Solo is a platform that can be added onto your Ellii Organization account, and is designed for ESL programs in adult ed, high schools, and libraries. Ellii Solo is ideal for independent study, supplemental learning, computer labs, and distance education.
As a teacher you can view your students’ progress on Ellii Solo, view what they are working on, and change their level (if the admin of the account has turned this setting on). Follow the steps below to find out how!
Step-by-Step Instructions
Log in to your account here:
Step 1
Click Everything at the top. Then click Classroom from the drop-down menu.
Step 2
Click on the Ellii Solo tab.
Step 3
This will take you to the student progress page for Ellii Solo. You can see your students' names, when the student last used Ellii Solo, and their suggested level.
Step 4
On this page, you can also click View as Student to browse Ellii Solo from a student’s perspective.
Step 5
Click on a student's name to view their progress. You will see the name of the course or study pack the student is working on, when there was last activity last on the student’s account, and the status of the course or study pack.
Step 6
Click on Reports to generate a report for your students' progress on Ellii Solo.
Step 7
Choose a date range, then click Apply.
Step 8
You’ll then see the results displayed below. Click on Export Report to download a copy of the report to your device.
Step 9
You can choose between a Total Time or Unique Session report.
Total Time reports show the combined time of each unique study session as one summed number over a selected period of time.
Unique Session reports show the total time spent studying during each unique session over a selected period of time.
Changing a Student’s Level
If the administrator of your account has turned this setting on, you are able to change your students’ Ellii Solo levels before and after they have taken the placement test.
Step 1
Click Everything at the top and click Classroom from the drop-down menu.
Step 2
Click the Ellii Solo tab.
Step 3
Click the more options (…) menu next to the student’s name, and click Change student level.
Step 4
Choose a level from the menu and click Change level.
Step 5
When your student logs in, they will see their new pathway.
