How to Use Ellii Solo (Students)
Please follow the steps below to learn how to use Ellii Solo!
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1
Log into your student account via https://ellii.com/students.
If you log in with an email address or username, click on the Email/Username tab and enter your information.
If you use a key code, click on the Key code tab and enter your information.
Step 2
Once logged in, click on Ellii Solo.
Step 3
If you are new to Ellii Solo, you will be asked to take a Placement Test. Complete the test to be placed in a level, or skip the test.
Step 4
Once you have completed the test or skipped the test, you will land on your Home page. This is also where you land once you log in. To begin, click Start lesson at the top, or click Start course from a pathway below.
You can also retake your placement test to be placed in a new level.
Step 5
Choose a lesson from the list to begin. If you clicked Start Lesson, you are automatically taken to the task.
Step 6
Click Start to begin, and complete the tasks in the lesson.
Step 7
Once you complete a lesson, you receive a crown, and can continue to the next lesson.
Once all of the lessons in a course are completed, you earn a badge. Badges can be found on your Account page.
Step 8
On Ellii Solo, you also have the option to browse through other courses and study packs to work on. At the top, click Library.
Step 9
Click on a course you would like to work on.
A crown next to a course means you have already completed it.
Step 10
To start the course or study pack, click on the first lesson.
Step 11
To watch videos on Ellii Solo, click on Videos at the top.
Step 12
You can search for specific types of videos by clicking on Filter.
Step 13
Click on a video to view it. To save the video for later, click the bookmark icon.
Step 14
You can also view short videos by clicking on Shorts.
Step 15
You can also search for specific types of shorts by clicking on Filter.
Step 16
Click on a short to play it. Use the buttons at the side to control the captions, the sound, and give it a like.
Step 17
Clicking on Words will bring you to a word bank where you can learn and practice English words you saved as you were working on your lessons. You can save them as words you know, don't know, or want to save for later practice.
Click Study words to see a slideshow of your saved words. Click the speaker to lister to the audio, click the information icon to see the definition and use the x and checkmark ( ✔️) to choose the words you know and the words you don’t know.
Step 18
Click the arrow next to your name to access your account. On your account page you can change your account settings, see your activity and view your level. You can also retake your placement test.

Scroll down to view your saved videos and your progress,
