How to Register Ellii as an LTI Tool Inside Canvas

Registering Ellii as an LTI tool inside Canvas is a one-time configuration which should be completed by the Canvas account admin before teachers start using the integration. Please follow the steps below to find out how.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1

As the Canvas admin, you will go to Admin > Developer Keys > Create new Developer key > LTI registration.

Step 2

You will then paste in the Ellii universal registration url: https://ellii.com/lti/registration

Next, log in with your Ellii credentials on the following screen:

Finish creating the key and enable it. It should look like this when it is done:

Now that the key is registered, you will need to install the app. Copy the number under Details by highlighting it and right-clicking the number (the ‘2738…’, do not click on ‘Show Key’), and head over to Admin > Settings > Apps. This is the correct screen:

You will click on + App, choose By Client ID in the first dropdown menu, and then paste the Client ID copied from the key (the ‘2738…’).

Step 7

Lastly, copy the Deployment ID of the newly installed app and send it to the Ellii support team (hello@ellii.com).
