Open-Ended Questions Task
The Open-Ended Questions task is a writing practice or assessment task that allows students to type short or long responses to questions and prompts.

Step 1
Click Launch Tasks from the lesson overview page.
Step 2
Look for the Open-Ended Questions task on the left-hand side, and click Start.
Step 3
View the instructions at the top, and use the hamburger button to close the tasks list. Use the same button to bring it back.
Step 4
Click the Rubric button to see how the responses are scored. (Not every open-ended task has a scoring rubric)
Step 5
If there is a reference available, you can hide it by clicking the Settings button and clicking Hide. Use the same button, and click Show to bring it back.
Step 6
If there is audio available, click the play button to listen to it.
Step 7
Begin the task by typing the response into the box. Use the arrows to go through each question.
Step 8
Once you have finished the questions, click Submit.
Step 9
You can then try the task again, move on to the next task, or choose another task from the left-hand side.

Step 10
Work with your students online by screen sharing or in-person. If you would like to assign the lesson to your class, click the Add to class button.
