How to Use Folders
Plan and organize your classes with our folders feature! Add and rearrange lessons, resources, blog posts, and flashcard sets in Folders. View Ellii Folders for recommended content and a suggested teaching order for a variety of teaching scenarios.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Log in to your account here:
Step 1
Click on Saved and select Folders from the drop-down menu.
Step 2
On the Folders page, you will see three tabs. The My Folders tab will take you to your customized folders, the Shared With Me tab contains material that are shared between you and other teachers in your organization and the Ellii Folders tab contains ready-made folders for you to use. The number to the right denotes how many folders are in each tab.
Step 3
Under the My Folders tab, you can sort your folders by Alphabetical, Reverse Alphabetical, or My Order. My Order allows you to sort folders into the order you choose by using the drag handle (the six dots on the left). The default view is set to My Order.
Step 4
You can also share, pin to a class, edit and delete folders by clicking on the More Options (...) menu on the right.
Clicking Share with... allows you to share the folder with other members of a group subscription (if you're part of one).
Clicking Pin to class allows you to easily access the folder's contents from within the Content Drawer of your selected class.
Clicking Edit Details allows you to edit the title and description of your folder.
Clicking Delete allows you to permanently remove that folder.
Step 5
You can add blog posts, resources, flashcard sets, and lessons to any of your folders by clicking the folder icon, checking which folder you'd like to add the item to, and clicking the Save button.
Step 6
To view the content within any of your folders, click on Saved and select Folders from the drop-down menu then choose which of your folders you would like to view in the My Folders tab.
Step 7
Clicking on Pin to class allows you to easily access the folder's contents from within the Content Drawer of your selected class. You can also save or remove content within a folder by clicking on the More Options menu (...) on the right. Clicking on Save to... allows you to save that item to another folder. Clicking on Remove allows you to delete that item from your folder.
Step 8
You can also share your customized folders with a teacher within your own organization (if you are part of a group account) by clicking on the More Options (...) menu to the right and choosing Share with...
Step 9
The Shared With Me tab contains folders that are shared between you and another teacher in your organization (only for group accounts).
Step 10
Under the Ellii Folders tab, you will find pre-made folders that contain content which follows a suggested teaching order. These folders include comprehensive mini-courses as well as collections on various skills and topics. New courses are being added regularly.
Note: You can't change the order of any content in the Ellii Folders section.
Step 11
You can copy our Ellii Folders to your My Folders section by clicking on the More Options (...) menu and selecting Copy to My Folders.
Step 12
You can also copy the contents of any premade Ellii folder to one of your customized folders by clicking on the More Options (...) menu and choosing Save to... then selecting one of your customized folders and clicking Save.
