How to Assign Digital Homework
Follow the steps below to learn how to assign tasks (digital homework) to your students.
Log in to your account here:
Click on Materials then select Lessons from the drop-down menu.
Select a lesson category to view the lessons available (e.g., Discussion Starters).
Choose a lesson to view the digital tasks available to assign as homework (e.g., Generations).
On the lesson page, you will see three options:
The PDF Viewer button will open that lesson as a PDF (Teacher or Student).
The Task Player button allows you to view or present the digital tasks associated with that lesson.
The Assignment Manager button allows you to send digital assignments to your class or students.
Selecting the Task Player button allows you to preview the tasks you're sending as digital homework in the Assignment Manager.
Click on the task name under Task List to select a task and hit Start to launch the task.
You can also click on the apple icon by the task name to see the answer key (grey means there is no answer key for this task). You can always click on the X to exit.
Clicking on the Assignment Manager button will allow you to send digital assignments to your classes or individual students.
Click the i on the top right to view the instructions. Each page will have different instructions that you can view.
Select Classes to assign tasks to your class.
You will be taken to another page where you can select your class.
Selecting Individual Students will assign tasks as an individual assignment to a specific student or as a group assignment if more than one student is chosen.
Click on Continue to assign tasks.
Use the checkboxes to choose which of your students in this class will receive this assignment. Click on Continue to choose the tasks you would like to assign.
Note: If all students are selected, the lesson will also be assigned to any new students added to the class for up to two months after the Due Date.
On the Create Assignment page, you can set your optional Start Date as well as the optional Due Date for the tasks that you would like to assign as homework for that class. You can also leave a note for your students if you wish.
Note: You can unselect the tasks that you do not want to assign.
Click Assign once you are ready.
A Homework Assigned pop-up window will appear to confirm the homework has been sent to your class.
You can also share this assignment with your students on Google Classroom by clicking the green Google Classroom icon above the Okay button.
Click Okay to close the window.
To cancel assigned lessons, click on Classroom then choose Assignments from the drop-down menu.
On the Assignments page, click the More Options (...) menu by the lesson you want to remove and select Delete.
